Not necessarily. It all depends on the particular produce. for instance- you can wash your green leafy items and remove the toxins very effectively. (but you do need to wash them with an appropriate vegetable wash product, not just water).

On the flip side, most berries actually contain the toxins- so it can't be washed off.

But- it all depends on your goals. If it's for personal health, then many items are just as good if you wash them well. However- dairy products, soy products, berries and COFFEE should all be purchased organic.

Now- if you want to also support the environment, organic farming is much less harmful to the environment- so perhaps it's something you wish to support. It's getting more and more mainstream, and consequently cheaper and more available. This is a good thing!

I find certain organic veggies( brocoli) and fruits ( strawberries) to be better tasting than conventional so I'll pay the extra $$, but I don't buy every single item organic.

Depends on the item. It's probably worth it for dairy products, since they taste better and aren't loaded with the secondary products of antibiotic metabolism- and it is more humane for the creatures providing the resources.

By weight, over half of the antibiotics produced in America are fed to livestock to increase their productivity!

Organic food is great, but you're right, it's expensive. If you're on a budget, regular food is perfectly good for you, especially since some organic products, like produce, are more perishable than regular produce.

it is always good to buy organic food in comparison to conventional. but some time you have to make a balance between organic and conventional.and its advisable not to use junk food.

do your homework and figure out which organic products are "necessary" and which aren't...for instance, fruits and vegetables would benefit from being organic (especially bananas) since they have proous skin that can soak in insecticides and retain water. organic grains (at least to me) aren't quite as "necessary." Also, I would always buy organic milk (or at least hormone free) as that is truly bad for you.

i don't think so,., they are just as good as conventional, they have to be because of guidelines. i would stick to your budget. that needs to be a guideline, and i know about budgets!!! what is better? an organic piece of bread that costs about 50cents or buy 5 pcks of ramen noodles that can feed the kids for one meal??

No, it's not worth it. There are many conventional foods that are still good for you and like you said they are cheaper.

They are more expensive and less convient to store and keep. I only suggest them if you are really worried about preservatives.
