She sounds like a sweetheart.
Yep... AT LEAST $20, or a gift card, dinner out or something special that she probably wouldn't think of buying for herself.

Whatever you would normally tip someone to do this. I ususally give about 10% of the total cost to my hairdresser. On average a cut and highlights are usually between $60 and $120 depending on the length and thickness of the hair. Since she is not charging you I would be inclined to tip a little more.

She might not even take one if she is refusing to let you pay for at least the cost of the hair dye. Try taking her out for lunch or giving her a ten dollar gift card to Subway or somewhere she likes to eat, if she won't take the money. I say a fifteen dollar tip wouldn't be to much, if you work in the hair field then you know how much it costs to get your hair cut and colored.

No. you mustn't tip her. Tiping is something you do to be well mannered yet in addition to coach appreciation for sturdy provider. She did no longer do your hair as you asked the 1st time & you have been nice sufficient to tip her then. She then added inconvienced you via making you wait. you do no longer owe her something. i'd advise that in case you merely do like the way she corrects your hair then i'd merely prepare your appreciation via thanking her or perhaps even tipping her an extremely small sum of money. sturdy success with getting your hair fixed! =]

i am a hair dresser and do my friends hair for free too. They usually give me around fourty dollars how ever that just covers the cost of product and time spent doing it a more realistic tip would be about about sixty to eighty dollars if she refuses just place it on the table before you leave, remember in a salon it would be over a hundred dollars.

I would say, offer to pay for the chemicals used for the highlights, then take her to lunch or dinner.

What would 20% of a normal cut and highlight cost you? Or you can do something really nice for her-like take her to dinner at a really nice restaurant.

I believe that when a service like that is provided for free to you, the common courtesy is to tip atleast half of the service.
