take the child to the doctor.
that is a serious illness.
meanwhile....even though it hurts to pee...give them plenty of water....it helps to carry the infection out....but the child will need antibiotics to kill the infection completely.

Urinary tract infections are generally painful during urination, but not everyone experiences that. A frequent urge to urinate which produces only a small amount of urine is also a usual symptom. An antibiotic will most likely be needed to clear up the infection so take your child to the doctor for a proper diagnosis. Yes, it is OK for the child to go to school if he/she is not running a fever or is in a great deal of discomfort. Drinking plenty of water will help clear up the infection along with the antibiotic as well as help prevent future UTI's. Encourage your child to urinate throughout the day. If they are ones that "hold it" for most of the day find out why and see if you can help them plan time to go to the bathroom while at school. Some kids are afraid to use the bathroom at school and hold it all day, which is a possible cause for an UTI. If your child is a girl, remind her (in private) to wipe after urinating from front towards the back to help keep bacteria away from her vagina and urethra.

First you take the child to the doctor for antibiotics. Then you serve the child lots of juices, especially cranberry juice blends as well as lots of water. Yes the child can go to school. But a note to the teacher might be in order to let the teacher know what is going on in case there are any problems.

Visit the doctor, who will prescribe an antibiotic. The child should be able to go to school, unless it is too painful, which it can be. Don't ignore it, though. UTI's can turn into kidney infections!!

depending on the age of the child, there's a OTC med called Uristat. It numbs the urinary tract so it doesn't hurt so much, if at all. Check with your dr. before giving to any child under the age of 15. My 15 y/o takes one pill every 8 hours, and it helped him. Also, a bath of warm water helps with the pain. No bubbles and such tho.

It is quite painful to have a uti. You need to take your child to the doctor and get them onto antibiotics. They should also be drinking clear liquids like water and apple juice, not soda.

You need to get that child to the doctor's. Yes it does hurt and yes it's hard for the child to go. If not treated properly, it can lead into other serious things. Get to the doctor's asap!!!!!

Yes and Yes.
Give him or her lots of cranberry juice. If she won't drink it, make it into popsicles, or mix it with sprite.
Take the child to the doctor and he can prescribe Bactrim which will kill the infection.
