you can apply for a ged at anytime... you do have to show just cause that you DID attempt taking classes for HS and did try!!! or you can take college classes and double them back as HS credits!!! just go to college!!

Seems like there should be NO age limit!
I took it in 1967 at age 17 while on active duty, US Army.
After the GED there is also a 'CLEP' for college credits.
I'd encourage you to check with the local Department of Education to learn your options.

If you are under 18 I think that you have to get written permission from your School District.Good luck.

High school age, or at least 16.
