Cause police in the US know they can protect themselves better. There's also more ppl in the police force per capita in the states than in the uk.

To be hinest UK police is crap. I got beaten up a year ago and needed to get to a hospital the police took 90 minutes and the ambulance 120mins. As it turned out both stations were just around the block! What a bunch of incomptent monkeys

Alot of people have got the right idea. Its a mix between the US being a police state, and so a s@*t load of cash is piled into giving officers the resouces they need to do their job, meaning more officers, more cars etc, and so it would appear they respond quicker. On the other UK hand, we are policed by public consent, and so as little cash as possible is given to the force to give officers the things they need, resulting in less officers, less cars, more useless community support officers! Hope this helps.

How do you know that? The problem with comparing the rest of the world with the US is that most ideas and views of what the US is all about is spread by film propaganda. Thats why people routinely say that things are better in the US. They have lost sight of reality. The fact is that they do not respond quicker. Full stop!

UK police respond just as fast, but only when its a priority job...we don't come running when you lose your wallet, or you locked your keys in the car, as we have far more important jobs to do....and in comparison to US cops, we're far tougher than them. We go into life threatening situations with CS SPRAY and a ASP baton, and don't hide behind a gun......beat that you lard-*** yank cops!!! Go eat some donuts and shut the F**K up!!!!

I am not sure about that. A few months ago, I actually got put on hold when I had to call 911 to request an officer. I was on hold for over 10 minutes.

More police in the US.
Have you seen an American true-life car chase? It looks as though there are half a dozen or more cars chasing one criminal.
In my home county, there are two cars available during the night.
