If your from the UK then your probably an Anglo Saxon that makes you a descendant of an illegal immigrant. If your from the USA then Native American Indians would call you an illegal immigrant. The Irish only started to come to England because it was illegal for Englishmen weren't allowed to move from their parish (The poor Laws) so there was a labour shortage during the early industrial revolution. We Celts had to put up with you Anglo Saxons so please stop thinking you own the country. if the Cornish-men decide to send you German boat people back don't blame me. Trade and commerce needs a market and a labour force to grow or maybe you think Michael Portillo and Michael Howard aren't contributing to this society and they should be sent back to Spain and Roumania. The only irresponsible policy that they carry out is that asylum seekers aren't allowed to work to support themselves. Immigration is a net contributor to the Tax recites of the country.

Which government?
I find it difficult to understand a Labour Government (albeit New Labour) which has toughened the laws on illegal immigrants since they took over from the Torys.
I also find it difficult to understand why illegal entrants are suddenly all considered to be illegal immigrants. What happened to asylum seekers? Guilty of being an illegal immigrant until the themselves can prove themselves worthy of asylum. With asylum seekers, the burden of proof lies with them. With common criminals, the police have to present enough evidence to start a prosecution and get a guilty verdict..

Contrary, the Govts Immigration policy has made it harder for non residents to become UK residents. But the EU intake needs further strengthening.

This is why the program is called "Immigration Reform!" Any time someone proposes change, someone else will oppose it and make the process slower. Contact your local special interest group to find out what takes so long to get laws that work in this country, you will find that the people no longer speak, the special interst groups do!

They're pandering. Years of doing nothing to stem the flow of illegals has led to where we are now.

At this point, the solutions are very difficult to come by. Simply deporting them all is next to impossible. Letting them stay with amnesty is just as bad since it rewards those who broke the law.

Because the government keeps on spending money on WAR. If they used that money to help their own people, and sort out their own immigration system, things would be better. Blair needs to stop kissing Bush's butt. He needs to help his country.

To better answer your question, one would have to know what portion of the current policy you are in disagreement over.

It stinks because....

I, for one, cannot agree or disagree with something that has not been stated. You have written a hollow question.
