Bush an Atheist? I suspect he thinks he's pretty close to God. The current war on terror is just another Holy War.
Lots of Americans still believe that Iraq was involved in 9/11 although Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11 and the media rhetoric to justify the invasion in the first place was nothing more than a politically orchestrated litany of lies. That's religion for you.
President George W Bush has made it clear that he reads the Bible, prays to God, and that God told him to invade Iraq. Very recently he referred to the USA’s war against terror as a war against Islamic Fascists. The other side, the Islamic Fascists, of course refer to G W Bush and the USA as Christian Infidel Dogs and so the Holy War of Words goes on, like the Axis of Good (Christianity) at war against the Axis of Evil (Islam).
The above is quite mild to all the evil religious words being thrown by each side, but of course, it doesn’t stop there does it. The same sides, Christianity and Islam, are physically at war with each other, murdering innocent men, women and children in the process.
Humanity has a horrific track record of atrocities and killing caused by religion, and this war seems to be no different, just another Holy War in the name of religion, inflicting it’s madness once again onto humanity. Religion is so evil, it has even infected the President of the United States of America.

An atheist? You're kidding right? The dude who insists on saying "God bless America" after every flipping speech? The guy who is pushing his religious views on our medical research? Maybe we're not talking about the same Bush here. Heck no he's not atheist, more's the pity.

Lesson one of any religion and/or spirituality (whatever that yours is):
Questions like yours are out of place. The way human believe in God (Religion, Faith, etc) is a personal issue and only the concern parties should be the person and his/her creators.
Thus my advice is not to waste time seeking other people's religion, and spent the precious time on strengthening your faith.

Actually, no one pulls this stuff knowing that there are people out there. He does it because he is so Christian that he has no regard for any other religion.
Like a lot of Christians...

He is true christian, he is trying to turn this country into dark ages, prohibiting stemp cell research.
His idea is for all of us to be stupid. And that's exactly what church and christianity are looking for.
