Mail service runs 6 days a week. I can wait one extra day for a holiday...

I would rather have dependable service 5 days a week than intermittent service 7 days a week.

Would you prefer to make postal employees work every day out of the year, thusly increasing chances of having that worker go 'postal'?

These federal employees don't get time off like the rest of us normally do. There is nothing wrong with haveing some days off. Thats how the government does it, then so be it. Those people deserve days off as well.

I used to work in a bank and some genious had the great idea of staying open half days on certain holidays. NOBODY came in. We ended up blarring music and playing various sports behind the teller-line. So no, banks shouldn't stay open, but it would be nice to still get mail.

yes, i think they should deliver mail on every holiday, even sundays too. they should have to put up with miserable hours and schedules like the rest of us. they're lucky they get to go home at a decent hour. there is nothing worse than waiting for a package or check and having to wait through sunday and a holiday.

Everyone needs time off. You can wait an extra day for your mail, and you can do your banking early, can't you?
