sometimes questioning god is not good. just believe in him then you will see. no one knows the true meaning to life. no one, we must take one day at a time.i understand how you feel but i know one thing for sure man did not create this beautiful sky, grass, trees, moon, sun, stars and that alone lets me know that there is a higher power. man is smart but someone gave him that knowledge. don't take my word for it read the bible your self then see if their is any truth to it then. come up with your own decision. whether there is God or not. don't listen to me or no one else. read for yourself. we go back to the dust from which we come from.

People go to church because it's what they've been taught to do. Because it's the same silly fear and ignorance that has been around since the human race began, they want to think there's something "more" than being born, living, and dying. Wanting it doesn't make it so.
Why does there have to be a "meaning" to life? Do you think an ant has a "meaning" to his life? He's born, he lives, he dies -- that's all there is. You just have evolved a bigger brain than the ant to be able to wonder about it, that's all. Doesn't show that there IS any meaning.
Nothing happens after you die -- you're just dead. There's no proof of any kind that there's anything else. There's no reason for there to be anything else, heaven and hell are just wishful thinking for humans afraid of dying.
Look at it the other way: if there is a god, why does he have humans beliving in him in so many different and contradictory ways? Why doesn't he show himself and end the confusion? Why does he allow all the violence and evil? Why are there no more "miracles" like in biblical times? Why have so many of the things ancient people considered "divine intervention" been shown to be simple physics, weather, biology, etc.?
Why does there need to be a god? There is no such need, the universe, our planet, and all the life on it came to be just fine without one. Lose your fear of dying, and live life to the fullest each and every day, making the earth a better place to live -- this life is all you've got.

1. Regardless of whether there's a God or not, people go to church and pray because it makes them feel good. God has nothing to do with people going to church (this is a difficult concept to understand, so think about it for a while).
2. We're alive because we're not dead yet.
3. The meaning of life is "self- perpeptuation through reproduction" (rather, that's the definition of life, which is about as close an answer to a such a vague question you'll ever get).
4. I'll let you know when we're both dead, but you're not meant to know the answer until then.

Wow. That's a heck of a question. I wish I knew what you were really searching for behind that.
It is all a matter of believing. Personally, I believe there is a God, that we exist because he put us here and after we die we either go to Heaven or to Hell. I believe the only way into Heaven is to believe in the Lord Jesus and proclaim him your savior.
I believe the meaning of life is to worship God, and be a good steward to all people. That does not mean going around preaching the bible and cramming it down someones throat. Yes, we should share what we know, but preaching is not always the best way. We should live our lives as an example of Him. As cheesey as it is, answering the question, what would Jesus do? In every situation, a Christian person should be making a decision based on that question, and they will open eyes and ears to share the gospel. Give to the needy, help in anyway you can, etc etc.

no one can REALLY answer those questions its just opinions
i say that god is alive but not physically just his 'spirit' if you know what i mean, like he is alive in heaven and when we die we will probably see him then so hes not dead but hes not living on earth either...... so the reason we go church and praise god is becuause we want to get into heaven
i hope this makes sense but remember that might not be right and no matter what ANYONE says even priests or nuns or vicars or the pope or anyone, no one knows anything about what happens after death with god really its all just opinions so believe whatever you want to

People go to church as they value tradition and don't like change, and don't like to think for themselves, and rely on their religion for that. They want confirmation that they will see their dead family members in heaven when they die. Some need the 10 Commandments or they wouldn't know right from wrong.
The meaning of life is differnet for everyone, I think we all came here to learn different lessons.
I think after you die you might be reincarnated into someone else, depending on what you did in this life, (karma).

There is a God. But people want to hang on to something that they can believe in. It gives them strength, wisdom, spiritual meaning. Going to church and praying is just a symbolic meaning.

In my opinion to tell you the truth there is a God cause he created the Earth. If there's no God there's no life on earth.
After we die we go to heaven and we won't come back on earth anymore. There is a meaning of life cause we are in a mission for God in this planet we live in.
