I know there is no substitute for eating the right foods and excercise, but I am just curious if there ever will be, or if there is, a product that has been approved by the food and drug administration and absolutely does what it claims to do without serious side affects...

The medical and pharmacological community are in the business of promoting prescription drugs, which is about money, bottom line. They are not going to develop something that will cure obesity. And consider the side effects of most drugs.

Just my opinion...
Will they ever? Probably. But, it won't be approved by the FDA as a dietary OTC supplement for one reason or another. It will be developed and used for medical purposes (e.g., obese people). And it is unlikey that it won't have any side-effects. But for now, this is science fiction stuff so don't count on it.

the answer is no. all you need to do is mind your diet and exercize regularly and you wouldn't need a diet pill anyway.
