Well I can feel your frustration. My son just turned 16 and the transition has been challenging. It seems he only has respect and dignity for those few within his circle and that family becomes the enemy. I have started treated him the same way he treats us and although Dr Spock would say I'm wrong it does work. I let him know that I will be treating him the same way I see him treating members of the family and when I'm around it works, and told that his attitude is improving.

Kids are kids. You have to instill there values into them each and every day. Respect from children theses to days is way to relaxed. They are learning what they are living. I have 2 teenage daughters and they are individuals and I treat them that way. They will have good times and bad ones, but just keep loving them and keep yourself involved with their lives as much as possible. Talk to them not at them and listen. Kids need to know that you went through the same things when you were there age. I talk with mine openly about everything and anything. My kids are honest with me in return.

Fortunately for me I still have 2 and a half years before experiencing "teenagehood".....
But goin back to when I was a teen, I think they are all like that to a certain degree....
REMEMBER: THATS WHEN PARENTS BECOME STUPID AND HAVE NO CLUE!!!! LOL!!!
Lucky for you, you're not alone!!!!
Good Luck!!!!

Just watch him, make sure he keeps his self-esteem high, so he won't hurt himself and he'll stay away from danger. This generation looks careless about everything, but they are very sensitive and fragile.
