My kitten has one toy that he plays with regularly, and he is not interested in all of the others that we have bought for him. Does anyone have any toy suggestions for a finicky kitten?

Thanks for all of the great suggestions everyone. (Strangerbarry, how about trying that sawblade trick next time you drink a glass of water? Let me know how it works out for you....)

If you buy milk jugs (not cartons) you should let your kitty play with the little zip ties on the top that you pull off to open the milk. I've never seen a cat who doesn't enjoy playing with a milk tab.

Do you know what everyone says about cat toys? "Instead of playing with the toy, my cat played with the box that the toy came in!"
Cats love free stuff. Give them bottle caps, rubber balls, empty boxes, shoelaces, balls of paper or foil, a piece of fabric with a few knots in it... anything at all. My cat is obsessed with cloth hair ties ("scrunchies.") You don't need to spend money on cat toys, but catnip might be a good investment :-) Have fun!

You've got to get "Da Bird". I never met a cat who didn't love it. It's basically a rod with a string at the end of it. At the bottom of the string are these 2 feathers. When you wave the feathers back and forth using the rod, they actually spin and make a fluttering noise! Cats just go bonkers for it. Check it out on Amazon. They even sell replacement feathers for it, because most cats love it so much they eventually tear the feathers to shreds! LOL! Enjoy! http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000679IE6/yahoo-kitchen-20/ref=nosim

nicely my cat loves it as quickly as I tie a string around a wood spool of thread. make certain each and all the thread is used up yet tie approximately 3 to 4 feet of string on the spool. then hang it in front of him and then walk slowly so he can see what you have. optimistically he will bypass chasing when you and bat at it and look particularly lovable. have you ever tried putting some leaves of the two cat nip or maybe mint interior the toe of an previous tube sock and the tying it in a comprehend and reducing of a pair of million/2 of the tube area of it? that would desire to be relaxing for him. a handmade mouse for him to seek. desire this permits!

My cat loves anything with feathers on it, also a crumpled up piece of paper is a good and cheap toy most kittens like.

My cats love balls. We have some that have bells in them, some with a tail of feathers, some that belong to my kids (such as their baseballs). They also love any toys that my 6 year old leaves laying around on the floor!

Here are a few of our kitties' favorites:
Furry Ball (made by Zanies)
Interactive wand with feathers &/or mylar. A bell attached also attracts them!
A circular tube with a ball or mouse inside. They reach through the opening and it rolls around. They love this!

Yes..Look at the local pet Supermaket for these nifty stuffed critters which are stuffed with CATNIP. The nifty thing about these is that it comes with EXTRA catnip and the bottom of the critter opens so you can put more in anytime you want. My 3 older cats went bonkers for these when we brought them home.

what kind of toy does he have? try the feathers on a stick that you can buy at the pet store, my cats go CRAZY for it, i don't know if you have fake mice, but the small ones that are really hairy seem to work the best,

One toy I have found that they will play with a lot is actually the rubber thing around a gallon of milk. So all you need is a gallon of milk and when you open it just give it to him/her .
