just an indian is absolutely right, my sp1 was not genuine and i downloaded sp2. I have all the benefits of sp2 but whenever i start my computer the sys says the xp version is not original. and the two buttons which i can see, one of then says buy original version.when u press that button it takes you to the microsoft page and asks for a payment of 199$ .
the other button says resolve later.so to continue i have to press resolve later.
i think that one day microsot will do something and i wont be able to use this pirated version of windows any more.but if you have original software you wont have any of the above probs.

Yaa, but SP1 should be genuine, if not windows will recognise it and create some problems on your system. If genuine, go to Windows Update And Search For Windows XP SP2. Then you will be able to upgrade it. Dont do it if you think that your SP1 is not genuine.

You can and should. There are MANY good things abotu SP2. I don't even think that Microsoft supports SP1 any longer. Connect to the net and update your brains out.
Note: SP2 is a BIG download (~70Meg)

Yes, log into the internet and either go directly to Microsoft.com or click on Windows update...
If you have dialup, get it started and find something else to do cuz it'll take hours and hours....
