Most vets will not do them if they are over 12 weeks.
I have had dobermans and they like to do them at 9 weeks.

Ears are cropped at 7-12 weeks historic for such a lot breeds, adding Schnauzers. After that alterations are the ears is not going to stand competently, at a yr historic there is not any probabilities the ears will stand.

12 weeks...If cropping is to be done, it should be done between 8 and 12 weeks..Ears will flop at tips and appear silly if cropped later, as the cartilage won't stand correctly...

I used to breed Dobermans and the vet who specialized in cropping wouldn't do it after 12 weeks..He said 9 weeks was the best time..
dog shows accept uncropped ears now, and we don't fight pit bulls, so there is really no reason to need to crop any more..

Well, I had my dog's ears cropped when I was 38 and it didn't seem to bother him at all. Why would he care how old I was?

I think it's stupid that people still do this. The slight improvement in the dog's ability to hear is strongly offset by the fact that they have a higher chance of getting an ear infection, which could make them go deaf.

The same time you crop your ears!!

God!! Why do people do this???

This does not benefit your dog in anyway!!

It is only done for cosmetic reasons!!

Ask your dog if he wants it done....they'll give you the answer.

Don't do this to your puppy just because everyone else does it!!

It is mean to do it anyway. Do you not love your dog the way he looks now. You shouldn't have a dog if you think it needs the canine form of cosmetic surgery to make it lovable enough for you.

bout the same age you can circumsize a boy...
no, sorry, I dont know the real answer, but I would think it would be mean to do it to an adult dog.

you have to do it when their young, like about three months, if you do it when they're full grown, they're ears just too thick and it's be more harder to cut through!
