wrap it really tight, go to the doctor, and your nail might fall off but it will grow back

apply pressure the the upper portion of you finger, this will cease the blood flow to the tip of the finger. If you smashed it good enough there is a chance that you may have broken the finger, so you might want to go to the ER room and have it checked after you get the bleeding to stop. Also, make sure you run your finger under cold water while you are doing this as it aides in washing the wound.

Apply ice and consistent pressure for 20 minutes. Don't let up on the pressure, either. If it doesn't stop after 20 minutes, go to the ER to make sure it's not broken.

goto Hospital... before you goto hospital make sure that you tie a knot around your wrist of the wounded fingers with some cloth.. in order to stop over bleeding... it will stop the blood circulation in the wounded fingers.. but the tight knot shouldnt be there for long time..

you need to get that checked out ..it is possible they have to remove the nail before the bleeding can be stopped..dont play around with that..you need to be seen by a doctor.

Go to the ER and get it taken care of.
You could have a fracture or artery injury in the finger.
You could end up with Compartment Syndrome...
Please go get it looked at.

hold the hand up above your heart for 20 minutes and the blood will coagulate nicely,,
although you should see a doc to make sure you have no nerve or bone damage.
ouch!
