I have had terrible teeth pain and have had root canals and an extraction to try and releive pain in my teeth, my teeth still hurt and the endodontist is sending me on to a orofacial pain clinic. he thinks it could be my nerves. does anyone know about this?

They are talking about your cranial nerves, I have it on the right side of my face. I have sever pain in the right eye and upper face yet I broke a tooth on my lower right and I had no pain and they did not need to numb it. It is hard to understand at least in my case as I woke up with this pain. I have had it for 11 years now. I was on steroids for the first 5 months, I gained a lot of weight with it, I then took tegretol for years, now I am taking Neurontin and is working better than anything. If they can't help you at your next appointment you need to go to a neurologist. good luck and don't give up

It is called the trigeminal nerve.
It is ONE nerve that splits into 3.
There is a maxillary and mandibular branch.
Perhaps the pain is in one of these 2 branches.
Intractable pain in there is called:
Trigeminal Neuralgia.

I had a twitch right above my eye for like 3 months. It annoyed me so badly, it twitched on and off. It eventually went away on its own.
