Stress is the silent killer. Absolutely.

Yes my friend. I learnt the hard way. 2 years ago I used to be that "kid" who always used to be in his books and study like crazy. I guess I really wanted to do my best in terms of education, but I realised I wasn't happy. I was too stressed out.

As a result, I ended up having "cardiac arrest", my heart went into "ventricular fibrillation". It seems I already had an underlying heart arrhythmia, which was further induced by all this stress and pressure. I was in a coma, and I needed an operation to implant an "ICD", it's an internal defibrillator as a life insurance. I'm extremely lucky to be even alive, if it wasn't for my mother who quickly gave me CPR and the paramedics who arrived quickly to literally "shock" my heart back to life, I probably would have a gravestone by now.

At present, I'm still feeling a little bit down, I still remember the person I was before and had high ambitions, but I'm happy that I am alive and well; I've taken a break from education now.

A little stress is good, because it helps you to push through it and do even better, but too much isn't good for your body. When you feel you are too stressed, listen to what your body is telling you, just stop! Learn to not go past your limits.

I hope my experience has enlightened you.

Good luck :-)

The question is would you die from the palpitations induced by stress...
The answer is.. it matters what kind of stress.
Chemical stressing, drug stressing, etc... Yes.
Stress from overexertion.. yes
Anxiety? Probably not.... it usually only makes you feel like your heart is tripping. This isn't to say that you don't have palpitations that are causing your anxiety, such as Mitral Valve Prolapse..... So make sure you clear all other reasons first.

These people know nothing. You cannot, repeat, cannot die from the palpitations in a panic attack. Get self-help books by a woman named Weekes.

You can't die from stress but stress can cause other health issues especially high blood pressure, strokes and heart attacks. Try doing meditation techniques, taking long walks and let your anxiety go or learn yoga. Also - TALK LOTS!!!! Don't keep anything bottled inside.

Yes. If your heart is weakened or the palpitations cause severe irregularities in your heart rhythm.

yes you can ,although it is very rare in the under sixties,
palpatations are just another name for a tachycardic(fast heart rate)the heart is a muscle and it can not keep up a fast rate for to long, normally the body controls the heart very well through differenr receptors in the brain,, but if these palpatations continue for to long especially in the elderly they can and do kill.
go see your gp

thanks

Yes. Perhaps not directly, but constant stress on the body can deteriorate you physically.
