You can if you show good faith in trying to set up a schedule to make up the rest of the time. Get an attorney to go to court where the probation was originally from, and take proof to the judge that you made an effort to do the work program. It's up to the judge if he wants to give you son a second chance.

Don't take this personal, the next part, just advice!

It really helps if you and your son a. don't look like trash when you walk in there b. are polite and respectful, not mouthy and argumentative c. he hasn't been in any other trouble and is doing well in school (have the report cards to prove it!!!)

Good luck!

Probation is given to people instead of jail or juvenile detention time. The whole idea behind probation is that you agree to follow several rules and you sign an agreement. *A legally binding* agreement / contract
You agree to do community work program, to have good attendance in school and to have no more trouble with the law. If you break that agreement, then the whole thing can be called off and the chance to do things other than jail is lost...........and you get put in custody because probation didn't work out.

In plain language, that is what happened and it is at the discretion of the probation officer and the judge to revoke probation and impose the sentence.
