What is normal as far as cats playing together goes? I have 2 cats and they run around tackling one another all day. One will then usually get upset, hiss/meow then run away. They get along very well other than this, but I was just wondering if this is normal/healthy?

It sounds like you have someone who is trying to be the dominant feline...If you have 2 males one is trying to beat the other into submission and be the Alfa Male or you could have a female trying to do the same. If you have older & younger cats it might be the youthful one that is trying to make his place known...

Sometimes you have to step in and let the more agressive one know who is the boss. I had 2 males, one that was probably 13 yrs old when my daughter brought home another male kitten and at 1st my old man was beating up the kitten and sitting on him, just doing anything to torment him. Once my kitten got older he started to pounce and attack my old man and I had to step in a time or two to put him in his place.

As long as no one is drawing blood or really getting mad at each other I wouldn't worry about it. You can also give your vet a call.

Good luck

Thats actuall pretty normal. My two cats do that all the time. When they are chasing each other it sounds like I have a herd.

Lot of times they take turns chasing each other. Kayley will first chase Dahlia and then Dahlia will chase Kayley.

I bought them a chess set but they only seem to be interested in knocking all the pieces off the board and then laying on it.

Yes, mine usually wait until everyone is in bed to do this. They run up and down the stairs and do the hissing tackling routine. Sounds normal to me.

Oh yes, very normal. I have 2 as well and they enjoy chasing and stalking each other.
One (a younger female) is more playful than the other (older male) and sometimes will try to play when the other's not in the mood. She tries to attack him and he makes this "brrrrrrrr" sound and runs away.

Yes, Just A Period They'll Go Through, If One Gets really Sick Of It, They'll Stay away from the other one or just stop playing for a while.

Yup - normal. The one that runs away is either NOT the dominant cat, or it's just tired of playing.

It's normal. They're mostly playing. Also this establishes who is the dominant cat. On a rare occasion I'll have to break up a "fight" between my cats.

Yes, I have 2 cats and they play like that all the time. Unless they are drawing blood, or one seems to be bullying the other, I wouldn't worry.

It is incredibly normal. My cat and dog play together like this too. Cats are social animals and are young at heart. They like to play.

Yes it's completely normal. Mine do that all the time. it's just playing. As long as they stop and calm down for a while. If it's constant and one cat keeps instigating it, I would talk to your vet.
