In case u didn't know Ford owns Mercury. Mercury is an upscale division of Ford. They are basically the same vehicles only Mercury is a more luxurious division. Ford also owns for more information Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover and Lotus. Oh an old sayin is Mercury is a Ford with washers.

Most of them come from the same factories. The one in Windsor, Ontario produces Crown Vics and Grand Marquis, the Atlanta GA plant used to produce both Taurus and Sable. There is no reason to have separate production plants if the only distinctions are cosmetic - grilles, headlamps nameplates and so forth.
And, as another responder said, Mercury is just a division of Ford Motor Company.

If I am not mistaken ford makes mercury. On top of that ford has no creativity in their car designs. They are so ugly to look at. No originality what so ever.

Ford Motor Company owns the Mercury name. As such many cars share the body, chassie, engine and major designs as a cost savings measure. Many American cars, reguardless of manufacturer produce the same body style under more than one name, with the only difference being in the details, such as interior, dashboard layout, exterior paint and stripeing.
