You can't. In fact, the odds are you will always have a bit of a stomach for the rest of your life. It is rare that a mother can magically lose that little tummy after giving birth. Diet, exercise, and a lot of crunches will help, but don't expect to look like you did prior to giving birth. Once you've rung a bell--you cannot un-ring it.

BREASTFEED, breastfeed, breastfeed... My daughter is 6 months old today and still breastfed. At my first OB appt 4 wks after birth, I was 7 pounds less than before I got pregnant. I still have continued to lose some weight here and there. The best part is that I eat when and what I want, b/c the baby is still taking an extra 500 calories from me each day.

if you started exercising or doing situps too soon after the baby's birth, it's possible that you strengthened your abs in an "open" position, meaning they are still split down the middle like they were when you were pregnant. a lot of women have this problem, and it means your belly will never get really flat again.
to test for this: lie flat on your back and do a little "crunch" to look at your belly. if there is a peak or a bulge right down the center of your belly, that's what happened! there are specific exercises you can do to bring your abs back together... consult a yoga or pilates teacher (or book or website) for best advice.
otherwise... all the other suggestions are good ones! i didn't lose my baby belly for almost a year, even though i got back down to my pre-pregnancy weight after 3 months....
good luck!

Sit ups, and aerobics. There are a lot of exercises that you can do with your baby which is a plus cause it give you interaction time that's fun and fit. Walk walk walk, take your little one everywhere in the stroller. Walk to the store, the park, the post office, anywhere you can, its a great way to loose the weight, just be sure to wear sunscreen on you and your child. Mostly have fun with the exercises, it will make you want to exercise more!

keep up the breast feeding and cut a lot of fat an dsugar out of your diet... when you eat less of that, your body pulls fat from your body to produce breast millk..
Lots of sit-ups daily and cardio. The sit ups build the muscle and the cardio gets rid of the fat on top of it so you can the muscles.
Remember it took you 9 months to get the stomach to stretch, it'll take at least 9 months to get back to the way you had it....

I lost all the baby weight after I had mine. I was right back down to normal, cuz I only gained 16 pounds. But now I'm back up, because after my baby, I quit my part time "on-my-feet" job that was apparently my exercise, and stuck with my full time office job.

Breastfeeding.
Besides that, 9 mos on, 9 mos off.
Don't expect to lose it all right away.
9 mos is very reasonable.

it took you 9 months to develop that stomach, it's going to take time and effort to make it go away. It won't happen overnight, and if you set your expectations too high, you'll only be disappointed.
