Not necessarily. That completely depends on the person, the severity of his/her symptoms, and his/her response to medicatiion. When one experiences symptoms such as auditory or visual hallucinations, then sure, his/her concentration is impaired, however, when he/she is not having symptoms, he/she can be as sharp as a tack, with no impairment to concentration whatsoever!

Schizophrenics have significantly more than poor concentration. They frequently have disorganized thoughts, even delusions. I would say poor concentration is the least of their problems.

Yes, they do have problems focusing along with MANY other symptoms...here is a website that will tell you a little more. Schizophrenia is best controlled with medication complicance...so, encourage them to take them and stress how important it is in order to live the best quality of life.
