Asking "what makes a good and interesting swinger?" is like asking "what makes a good and interesting friend?" Get my point? That is something that is as individual as anyone who swings. I may not be attracted to a person you are.

Our litmus test for who we play with is we ask ourselves "if sex wasn't in the picture is this someone we would chose to have as friends?" For both of us, and many more swingers we know, there has to be as much a mental connection as a physical one. We've met lots of "10's" that within 15 minutes become "5's" on the attractivenes scale, and visa-versa after getting to know someone.

Swinging is not about boinking everyone in sight like some others have said here. There is far less sex going on in the Lifestyle then outsiders would like to believe. This is because as your question suggests, not everybody gets along wiht everybody. When couples who only play together with other couples meet there are four people who have to like each other. Many times one member of the couple will be attracted to the opposite member of the other couple, but the spouse won't be. At this point it's a show-stopper.

As far as those here that are making moral judgements and attacking the character of others. Keep it to yourself. It's okay to say it's not for you, but not to attack other's beliefs, morality, or character just because they do things different then you. Remember, it has been estimated that as much as 20% of the population "swings" in one way or another (threesomes, foursomes, etc.) at some point in their relationship. That's 2 out of every 10 people you come into contact with each day. These people are your next door neighbors, they sit next to you in church, they wait on you at the bank, they are probably a member or two of your own family. If you put 10 of your family members in a room together, there is a good chance 2 of them have had sex with more than one person at the same time, ala "swinging", even if they do not consider themselves "swingers" per se.
