This is a difficult question to answer, primarily because so many cases go undiagnosed. Actually, there are quite a few, and I doubt that 1.1% is close to high enough.

There are differing levels of schizophrenia, and all respond well to medication, but you must continue the medication, even when you feel it is no longer necessary. It is simply a chemical imbalance that responds well to treatment..

Use of hemp or cannabis products will sometimes trigger or maybe cause schizophrenia, in a percentage of the population. Not everyone becomes schizophrenic due to the use of hemp, but between 17 and 23 percent of the population are subject to mental conditions that are eventually triggered if they use cannabis products, and schizophrenia is one of the possible conditions that can result.
