they didn't order enough books for my class so they had us purchase the book before they ordered it. A co-worker of my mothers had the book and they got a code for me to use(its a computer class) for online. Now they won't let me have the $150+ back. Is there anyway i can get my money back or am i out of luck?

I will say yes.--I think You can get your money back.

Most of the book stores on campus have a policy for refund. If the book is not what you suppose to get or is not applicapable for your class, you have the right to return the book(if it is in the same situation as you bought it) and get a full refund.

I think it's their problem for not having enough books and you have the option to get your money back.

I strongly recommend you talk to their manager/supervisor about this issue. Or you can report this problem to your college administration and ask them to figure that out.

If these things won't help, file a complaint and or take them to the court.

The problem lies in how you define yourself. Do you go back on your word? Apparently this bookstore only orders what it needs and by the sound of it... it's probably because the class won't be using this book next year so they're only ordering what they need. I'm afraid you're stuck with the book!
