A comforter cover. When you don't want to mess up your comforter and have to keep washing it, you can put a cover on it and protect it and only have to wash the cover.

A duvet is a continental quilt, I take it you are not from the UK?
it is what we use to sleep under, mine is made from Goose Down and you change the duvet cover or quilt cover as and when your hygiene dictates!
