absolutely yes. i've been on & off again w/ a woman who is so religious she won't live w/ me. I was married once, that's enough for me. I couldn't ask her to break w/ her religion so we're apart. *sigh* what can ya do?

Let me give you a bit to think about. I have been married to the most wonderful man in the world for 20 years. He stayed with me when I got sick for 6 years and almost died. He took care of me for 3 years when I could do nothing for myself. He never complained always compliments me tells me how beautiful I am and how great I am. Last week we sat down and he said he wants a divorce. I am healthy again and can take good care of myself. We raised 19 children together all are grown now. But he and I have grow apart. He is right. I still love him and he still loves me but we are no longer IN LOVE. Sometimes it's 8 mths sometimes it's 20 years.

I loved my ex when I left. Love doesn't turn on and off just like that. As long as you feel confident that you did the right thing by leaving, don't worry about the love. That love will either turn into a friendship, or just leave you without a bitter feeling for that person.

I think so, I've dated a guy who we were crazy about each other, but also drove each other crazy. We had nothing in common but love. And sometimes you have to realize if staying with each other is hurting more than helping you must set them free. I've never fogotten him and still smile when I think about him, but knew we were just too different to stay happy together. So yes, you can love and leave for the greater good.

yes.. i've done it plenty of times... and sometimes loving a person doesn't mean that you have to be with them.
at times the characters clash so you can't stay together. but even if you guys broke up, you'd still love him

thats not "loving someone and then leaving them" that's
ending a realtionship. it happens, such is life.
now if you drag home some stud from the bar, rip his clothes off
and make nasty dirty monkey love, then kick him out afterwards...........congratulations, thats "love em' & leave em'"
also known as the "hit it and quit it" and "who are you and what are you doing in my bed?"
