I had to stop drinking because I was drinking no less than a 12 pack a night. Now I drink water up to 20 bottles a day. I had to quit coffee because I drank pots of it everyday. I eat way too much often stoping only because I know I should, not because I am full. I drive too fast all the time. I have great difficulty moderating anything. I had to quit smoking because I was smoking almost 3 packs a day. What is wrong with me?

Maybe cause you rely on what ever your doing at that time to make you feel better. Like eating. A lot of people don't eat cause they are hungry they eat to cover up depression or just cause they're bored. Could be the same with smoking or drinking. I smoke a lot of times just because I'm tired or bored, instead of just wanting one. And as far as driving too fast, I do that too. I think almost everyone drives too fast.

Sounds like an obsessive compulsive disorder. However, Its good that you do realize that you over-do things in your life and decide to change that behavior.
If these changes are stressing you out, and or interfering with your daily life, you should see a doctor. There are anti-depressants such as Prozac and Paxil that are approved for the treatment of OCD.

You are putting your heart and soul into only one thing. Try to do things in moderation. Anything to the excess or extreme is a bad thing and is unhealthy. Balance is the way of life. You need to start thinking before acting, be aware of what you are doing.

yeah addictive behavior. Not easy to treat conventionally. You may need to seek professional help if it truly gets out of hand. You seem to being doing alright on your own though. Best of luck.

I don't know, but if you could find something constructive to channel that into, what a great success you would be!

Just haven't learned to do things in moderation. If you haven't learned how to do it by now, you never will.
