Celery is part of the holy trinity. To cook you need celery, onion, and carrot. Some people replace the carrot with other things to suit their region or style. The best cooking in any nation China, Italy, France, USA, etc and etc start with these three. They form the basis for every sauce soup salad fry, etc in real gourmet cooking. Spaghetti sauce always starts with 1/2 cup water and 1 cup each of the three from your trinity finely chopped. Forms the flavor base for the entire dish.

Have heard that celery is good to eat if you retain water, (which most women do) It is also good if you have a lot of stress. In a blender put some celery in & blend it. Drink about half a cup. You also need to drink cucumber with that as well. It's part of the destressing ritual. Do the same with the cucumber. Blend a whole cucumber in the blender, (make sure you blend the WHOLE cucumber) Do not peel the it. Then drink it.

Celery is one of the 'trinity' of French cooking... Every dish starts with sauteeing Onion, Garlic and Celery in butter... then you decide what to fix with it.

I have a recipe for Chow Mein that is totally bland without the celery.

It makes a good crunchy part of stuffings, especially for turkey, chicken or pork stuffing.

Don't go 'dissin' the celery... it's very useful.

Celery is good roughage and a filler vegetable with little or no caloric content. It is considered a "free" food in most diets - you can eat as much as you want.

Parsley is used mostly as a garnish. Chewing on some will also freshen your breath

Celery - I've no idea.

Parsley is good for freshening breathe and cleansing the palate when chewing a sprig after a meal. Can also be used as a garnish on soups and whatnot.

The great thing about celery is that you use more calories eating it than you get from eating it!

Parsley - freshens breath, garnish, etc. However, broad-leaf parsley is slightly different, and is generally used as a more substantial herb.

i've heard that celery is a negative calorie food, meaning it takes more energy to digest it than there are calories in it.

i've also heard both veggies are good for breath.

also, they are both good in soup, or as a garnish!!
