I totally agree.

Another scripture that shows that the earth will not be destroyed is found at Ecclesiastes 1:4

Proverbs 2:21, 22- the upright will reside in the earth, and the blameless will be left over in it when the wicked will be destroyed

Revelation 11:18 says that God is going to destroy those ruining the earth. Why would he do that if he was going to destroy it?

God destroyed "the earth" once before when he washed it clean of the wicked people on it.

Yes; the meek shall inherit the earth; there's a lot of texts to prove it. However the end of the 1,000 years here on earth, there is going to be a new heaven and new earth and the New Jerusalem will be coming out of heaven.

When Jesus Returns--
MATT.24:27; 26:64; 1THESS.4:16-17(shout); MATT.24:37-44; 1THESS.5:2,4,8; MATT.25:31-34; 13:36-43; 24:30-31; ZECHARIAH 14:1-5; 8:1-18; EZEKIEL 36:10,33; ISAIAH 61:4; 24:1,21,22; ZECH.12:8-9; ISAIAH 65:8-12; 66:15-16; REV.6:11-17; DAN.7:27; REV.1:6-7; 5:10; 11:15; MATT.5:3,5,10; 2CHRON.2:6; 6:18; PSALM 37:9-11; 115:16; 1COR.15:51-53; ISAIAH 63:7; 11:4; JER.4:16-27; 25:9-31; REV.20:9; ISAIAH 2:2-4; REVELATION 2:26; 16:14-21; ISAIAH 65:17-25; 2COR.5:1-10 (JUDGEMENT), REV.20:10-15; JOEL 2:30-32; 3:2,12,14,16,18; ISAIAH 66:1,22; HEB.12:22; REV.3:12; 21 & 22; MATT.12:32; 2PETER 3:7-13 (HEAVENS WILL PASS WITH GREAT NOISE; NEW HEAVENS AND NEW EARTH), ISAIAH 25:8 (WIPE AWAY TEARS); REV.7:14-17 (GOD SHALL WIPE AWAY ALL TEARS, LIVING FOUNDATIONS OF WATER). end.

THERE ARE TWO KINGDOMS: ONE ON EARTH AND THE OTHER ONE COMING DOWN FROM HEAVEN.

The 1st Kingdom of Heaven =
DAN.7:27 = "AND THE KINGDOM AND DOMINION, AND THE GREATNESS OF THE KINGDOM UNDER THE WHOLE HEAVEN, SHALL BE GIVEN TO THE PEOPLE OF THE SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH, WHOSE KINGDOM IS AN EVERLASTING KINGDOM, AND ALL DOMINION SHALL SERVE AND OBEY HIM."
REV.5:10 = "AND HAST MADE US UNTO OUR GOD KINGS AND PRIESTS: AND WE SHALL REIGN ON THE EARTH."

The 2nd kingdom of Heaven =
AFTER 1,000 YEARS = A NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH-HOLY CITY COMING DOWN FROM HEAVEN = REV.21:1-4; ISAIAH 65:17-25; 66:1,22 AND ETC.

SO HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO---
ISAIAH 66:21; ZECH.14:9-11 = "BUILD HOUSES, PLANT VINEYARDS, EAT VINEYARDS"
ISAIAH 66:23; ZECH.14:16-19 = "WORSHIP FROM ONE NEW MOON TO ANOTHER AS ONE SABBATH TO ANOTHER"
JESUS WILL BE GIVING CITIES TO THE SAINTS INWHICH THEY WILL BE TEACHING OTHERS THE TRUE MESSAGE OF THE BIBLE = MATT.25:14-23; EZEKIEL 36:10,33; LUKE 13:26; ISAIAH 61:4
WE WON'T MARRY OR BE GIVEN UNTO MARRIAGE = MATT.22:30

In terms of metaphor, meek implies humility. Inherit implies good things come to those who are humble. Arrogant Pride (GREEK hubris ) causes difficulty people.

Humble people don't make assumptions about rewards.. You get what you get as a result of actions. Karma.. Treat people well and you will be treated well.

I don't know about inheriting crap, I don't make assumptions about God's will for me. I think he expects us to treat each other well. But as far as "reward" for doing that, I see the reward is better interaction with the human race..

Something to consider. Regardless of your religious affiliation human interaction is either a blessing or a curse.

The DESIDERATA
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Revelation 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. This new earth is what Jesus is talking about. Who would want this wick earth with all its sin and destruction, I would not wish it upon my child, and God sure wouldn't give it to His children.

I believe that, too. Although I think a new Earth will be created to what it looked like in the Garden of Eden.

Not good people, but God's people. All those who obey God and accepted Jesus as their savior and became born again. There are many good people who did not accept Jesus as their savior that will not see the kingdom of God. For God will say this to them..

Luke 6: 46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I think you are an optimist. The meek usually inherit the leftovers (if any).

The meek shall inherit nothing.

Only the strong will inherit the earth.
