Mental heath experts have said that a persons emotional maturity stops at the age they become alcohol dependent. That is why the younger people become dependent, the harder it is for them to stop, as they have no memory of what life was like without it, especially in adult social situations. It becomes a sort of crutch that they fear trying to walk without. It takes time and determination to succeed.
