Here is a fact about TBN. There is someone my family has known my entire life: brother of a friend. He is a professional conman, has been involved in every type of scam and sale imaginable: get-rich quick, multi-level marketing, bait and switch, bad loans, impersonation, herbal breast enhancements, etc. He has now legally changed his name and is a "motivational speaker." Funny, he never even had any legitimate success to speak of. And he has recently made a name for himself, as an Evangelist. TBN had him on their broadcast to raise money. He comes on as a guest (because he's a salesman), and does his thing, which brings in donations. TBN pays him real well for it. The guy wears designer everything, diamond watches, drives luxury cars, etc. He really plays the part of a rich guy. It's superficial weath and he convinces everyone that he's successful, so they buy his tapes -- which makes him "successful." Pretty funny.
