No bible verse quoting -- that is not an answer. I want to know why you personally, in your own head, find it so very important that I believe the same thing you do. Do you honestly think that telling me I'm going to burn in hell is going to motivate me to see things your way? If your'e capable of using your own brain to answer this honestly, I'd love to know. I repeat -- do NOT quote bible verses at me. That is not an answer. I want to know in YOUR OWN WORDS.

Remember -- part of proving something to someone requires that you can supply evidence of all of the things you are asserting. You cannot beg the question. For example, if you tell someone that he/she is going to rot in hell, that assumes that the person even believes that there is a heaven or hell in the first place. If I don't believe that to begin with, you're going to be very hard pressed to prove to me that I will rot there. A meaningful assertion requires complete information.

Please try very hard not to compare apples to oranges. If I'm standing in the middle of a busy street, I'm probably going to get hurt. If you shout out "hey - watch out for that bus" -- that's no less than any human should/would do for another. If you're going to assert that not following Jesus is like standing in the middle of a busy street, you're gonna need to provide information about that particularly strange analogy. I see no similarity. Because, remember -- I don't believe in it. You really need to learn how NOT to beg the question when you make an assertion.

wow. i hate it when over zealous people share their religious beliefs because then people tend to associate the individuals personality flaws with the religion they're "promoting". I'm a Christian but i don't cram it down ANYONES throat. I wish people would respect others right to their own opinion. Let me say - on behalf of the SANE Christians that truly follow the teachings of Jesus- i apologize for the pushy people. conversion should happen freely, not coersively. Jesus NEVER taught us to force people or intimidate people into believeing anything. anyone who tries pushing someone closer to ANYTHING - not just religion - is really pushing them further away. sorry! ;(

Sorry but you will never get a decent answer to this...all you will get is "because Jesus told me to" or "because I want to save you from hell"...I don't think anyone will reach deep down and give the true reason which has nothing to do with hell or jesus...it has to do with people lacking faith so to cover up that fact they try to recuit more followers since if they get more followers then they truly believe and the more they get the more they must believe which makes them even "holier" so they have to get more followers which proves their faith even more,...see where I'm going?
ben_yhvh_7:: you are a follower of darkness and hatred...it's too bad you spurn and spit on the creator's gifts. I would pray for you but as you are closed minded and refuse to hear anything of light, decency, truth and everything good I will let you wallow in your own living hell before you go to the true hell after you die where you will burn forver with all the other dark and evil things

personally i could NOT care less how you worship. this is each individuals right guaranteed by the laws, rules and regulations in The United States. i would not try and tell you to believe the way i do because it may be the wrong way for you to believe and worship. the only basic difference between all religions are the rituals and ceremonies performed, otherwise most are the same. therefore it is up to the individual to determine which Church affiliation they feel the most comfortable in.

People have a lot of reasons for doing what they do personally.
Some are motivated by money. Some really believe what they have been taught is right, and for them that may be enough.
Personally I want to talk with people who are interested in what I believe, and from me, that must come from the bible.
I believe I am one of God's teachers. I love to find people who will let me show them things their preacher doesn't know, or won't talk about.
Many people who listen to the truth, find themselves thinking about what they learn from us, and calling us back with a change of heart. Once that happens, nothing can turn them away from the love of God, and they find happiness in telling others. It just snowballs.
I can't tell you the happiness it brings us to see a person who once hated our religion, get baptized and go with us to teach others.
Occasionally we find an entire church willing to hear the GOOD NEWS>

Who says I'm trying to convert you? You are perfectly within your rights to suffer torment forever and ever without end. Go for it. It's not what I would recommend, of course. The job of Christians is to share the GOOD NEWS that Jesus Christ died on the cross to take your place in judgment before God. Because of this, you can know peace and mercy and blessing (tangible, experiential things) all the days of your life and for all eternity. If you are too stupid or too blind to accept His free gift, then that's your business. But you can't say that He hasn't tried to reach you. God bless you and have a nice day!

Re: Additional Detail - I will not subject myself to anyone that calls into question the validity of the Holy Scriptures (The Holy Bible) and the information it contains. The Scriptures have been around for thousands of years, but you and I just got here. Scripture validates itself in the following ways:
1. there is more agreement between scriptures which were penned by different authors through the millenia of time than there are supposed contradictions - all in an age when there was no means of mass communication
2. so much of Bible prophesy has come to pass already, this is verifiable evidence
3. the things that the Bible commands lead to a transformed life that is happy, healthy and well balanced - sin on the other hand only destroys lives, and this too is in agreement with what the Bible teaches
4. The Bible answers questions and gives hope, whereas other theories such as evolution (a lie that was created only within the last couple of hundred years - for the express purpose of refuting God's existence) do not answer questions concerning the nature and quality of man's existence, nor do they offer any hope or power to live life victoriously
Perhaps you could tell us of another, "better" source for information concerning the Living God and how He has chosen to reveal Himself to mankind through the ages (or the nature of the "after life"). You have no right to question it's validity, seeing that you have virtually no knowledge of what it says.

I don't try to convert anybody bc if anyone were truly following Jesus, they'd leave ou alone after trying once b/c truly we're not supposed to force anyone into believing something if they don't want to you just leave suggestions or be an example, youre supposed to leave peace, "peace be with you" I was raised a Catholic and we don't constantly quote things and don't push our beliefs on others. Force is no way to get anybody to do anything, so if someone is forcing their beliefs on you......They're in no way a christian or jew...what have you....theyre a hypocrite

Honestly, I don't think telling people they're goin gto burn in Hell is the best approuch to witnessing. Even though this may be evident if your living the wrong life style, it's not gonna get you very many souls. I think people try to convert other people because they love them and want to see them go in the right direction. Though I don't think people should pester other people with they're beliefs because once you've showed them truth, it's you choice to take it or not.

Response to danger or potential danger is one of mans (of course including woman to) most primative reactions. The same could be said about recruiting people to a religion. In a sense one could argue that members are threatening you, if you don't do what they say you will endure pain. A primative reaction to this threat would be to do what they say, as many people do. I would like to think we have evolved beyond that way of thinking and are able to reason logically and with critical thought.

I do not personally find it important to convert you at all. I think I would probably enjoy debating the issue with you and see if you could find something to at least think about but ultimately the converting is done by you through God ...not me. All any Christian can do is give you something rational to think about and meditate on. If you should feel compelled after that to become Christian then I would rejoice but as I said, it is not in my power to convert anyone.

I do b/c Jesus told me that if I loved Him to keep His commandments.....and one of His last commandments that He chose to tell us before He left was to go and tell EVERYONE about His love and free offer of Grace to everyone that would believe. So, it is a personal duty of every Christian to tell all LOST people about His love. I love you and Jesus does even more. Thats why He died for you. He said that He was the only way back to Heaven. That is pretty exclusive.
See ya and God Bless.
