No, that scene was a mixture of what happened between Jesus (death via crucifixion) and John (death via old age, while in exile).
Keep in mind, though, that in LoB, Brian was looked upon as the Messiah... and in MPatHG, King Arthur rode upon nothing, but used coconuts as the sound of the hooves of his horse, and the French already had a Holy Grail.
Take Monty Python with a bowlful of salt as far as Christianity goes. Funny stuff, but not be taken as remotely close to accurate in the broadest sense of the word.

*LOL* Don't tell me you are living your life by "The Life of Brian".
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John didn't say anything about that.
Consider this, would Christianity have had so much of a positive effect on mankind if he'd gone to some island? Jesus was about love and sacrificing yourself for others.

Don't consult any "Monty Python" movies for even a scrap of religious truth.
Pilate kept trying to release Jesus, but was opposed by the religious leaders of the Jews. The chief priests didn't want Jesus "out of the way" or "humbled", they wanted Him DEAD. Pilate could have stood up to them, and released Jesus anyway, but the result would have been more rioting, and Pilate didn't think he could afford more political unrest. It was (politically) easiest to appease the (political and spiritual) leaders of the people, by sacrificing one innocent man.
John Boargenes was sentenced to exile on Patmos a couple of decades later, after the Greeks tried to boil him alive...and he survived.

It sounds like you are confusing Jesus with St. John who the Book of Revelation mentions as having been exiled to an island, but no such offer was given to Jesus.
[Rev 1:9] I, John, your brother, who share with you the distress, the kingdom, and the endurance we have in Jesus, found myself on the island called Patmos because I proclaimed God's word and gave testimony to Jesus.
Footnote:
[2] Island called Patmos: one of the Sporades islands in the Aegean Sea, some fifty miles south of Ephesus, used by the Romans as a penal colony. Because I proclaimed God's word: literally, "on account of God's word."

NO, he had to be crucified for our sins. He knew that it would be the only way, his sacrifice, for us to have salvation.
I don't know what is going on here, or why you all are trying to make God a joke. I will say one thing, making fun of God does not hurt Him or us, but it might hurt you at the end of your life here on Earth. Instead of you sounding a bit ridiculous read the Bible.
