My friends 10 yr old daughter saves the tags from any and all items that are bought for her. She also save other odds and ends. The tags are scattered in baskets and there seems to be no reason for this. She is given everything she needs in daily life but still feels the need to save this stuff. She also is constantly rearranging her room and is very adament about what is hers.

so whats the problem... i keep all my receipts til wear all the clothes on it, i also like rearranging my room every couple of months, i also keep all my bills for 1yr till the new year kicks in..
these r habits.. why not just ask her what is so special about the tags.. my now 13yr old when she was 4-6, she would go and take all the colored small, large, medium and xlarge tags off the clothes and keep them to...

Maybe she has obsessive compulsive disorder like my daughter. She did the same things at that age. Or maybe your friend's daughter is just going through a stage. If she does have OCD, it can make life difficult for her, so she should be evaluated and treated by a therapist.

Defianately, OCD, (obsessive compulsive Disorder) Sorry to hear, that but I'm sure her parents know, if they don't then I would suggest talking to them.
She may need help, or therapy as it can get worse, or not.
But I'm sure you know about OCD.

Sounds like she is lacking something in her child hood and has a disorder called obsessive compulsive disorder.

everyone has a weird side and collecting tags isn't really that weird if she was collecting toenail clippings than i think that would be really weird!!!!

She is doing it because she likes to do it.. people sometimes have hobbies that others wont understand.
