Yes I was reared in a christian and loving home where my parents always taught me and my brothers to treat people how we want them to treat us. And if we came upon an ignorant person educate them. We were also taught that no one is better than anyone else. Our parents encourage us to do our best and put God first. They gave good praise to all of us and discipline us when we were wrong. They also allowed us to voice our opinion as long as we did it with respect!

I'm very blessed. My parents did a great job!

They provided for all of my basic needs (shelter, food, etc.)
I received good medical care, when needed.
They were loving, and it showed. I felt loved.
They were good disciplinarians (and old fashioned ones, at that).
They taught character, morals, and values.
They gave a lot of good advice (to which I very activiely did not listen for many years) on living life.
They were pleasant to be around.
Though they were not themselves educated, they valued education, and encouraged and praised me in my achievements during my school years.
Finally, the were good and loving grandparents to my own children.

My parents did not raise me,My great aunt did.
I would say that she did the best she could although I don't agree on alot what she did to us children.
It did impact our lives.
EXAMPLES______
When she wipe us she used the razor strap on us,that meant we would have blood coming to the surface of our skin.
I was told that I would not amount up to any thing.

They did the best they could, given how they were raised and who they were raised by and so on and so on. Honestly, I love them dearly, and can now accept them completely.

they provided me with a home, clothes, food, schooling, religion, etc., but i never heard them say they love me and they barely touched me (i.e., hugs & kisses). my mom was also super critical about alot of things, still is. they never abused me & it's not that i don't love them, but parents don't realize that everything you say or do to a child can either have a lifelong negative or positive affect on them. i am not totally damaged because of them, but i do struggle emotionally in relationships - i see a therapist and she has told me to have as little contact with my mom as possible. also my mom is now super criticial of my 2 girls and i have told her to stop it!! i tell my teenage girls everyday that i love them & i hug them all the time - still kiss them goodnite - thanks mom for that lesson. my mom criticized me once for telling my kids i love them all the time - she thinks it's silly!
