Bissel pet and odar carpet cleaner does the trick. Get a bottle and keep it on hand for everything. I don,t even have a pet just children around.
Pour on there straight and rub,you may have to do it a couple times but it comes up pretty easy.
My grandaaughter did the same thing with a red crayola marker and I got it up.

LOL - My daughter used a bright blue sharpie! I tried spot shot carpet cleaner, which was pretty good...I think the hydrogen peroxide answer should work, though. Just remember to blot, not scrub. If all else fails, call Crayola and see what they recommend (in addition to only using washable markers from now on!). Good Luck!

Capture, it is a product at Lowes hardware, you can find it in the flooring section. I live in NC and we have red mud. It gets that out without a problem I think it will probably work on marker to. Good luck

Try hairspray. Just spray it on the marker and rub. Pro Solve dual power also has worked well for me in the paste. It got out paint from one of my carpets.

hydrogen peroxide. just use a small amount on the stain, and it should help get it out. My 4 yr old spilled an entire glass of red koolaid on my carpets, and it brought it right out.

hope this helps, and no more markers on the carpet, right? :)

OxiClean, which is basically hydrogen peroxide. I swear by the stuff. I ALWAYS have a bottle of it in the house. Works great on EVRYTHING. Also, just for your info, Resolve is the best carpet cleaner I've come around.

There are a few great ideas here:

If none of the above work, It may sound strange, but try Windex. It's amazing how many things it removes.
