This is something that I wrote last night...

I can hardly believe that 5 years have passed,
The pain and grief lasts,
God rest all their souls,
They never saw it coming,
The horror,the tears,
On their faces as they were running;
Please let there be peace on this Earth one day,
It is a fervent dream to think of,
Let the evil pass away,
Let there some time,some place...
...be love.

'Ya sai'--I pray every day for all the suffering people in this world.
Your sarcasm is not appreciated.

The Big 7 of human history:

Lust - Helen of Troy, Bill Clinton, rapists, sexual offenders
Gluttony - Trophy hunters, George W. Bush, Saddam Hussein
Greed - European enslavement of the natives and Africans for their own profit, too many others to say
Sloth - Kings, Queens, Emperors
Wrath - WW2 atrocities committed by both the Japanese and the Germans
Envy - Theives, robbers, corrupt officials
Pride - Americans, Catholic Church

Amazing how all 7 sins can be fitted eh?

I believe the Bible and I believe in Jesus Christ. Peace will come one day on the earth after Satan and his evil hoardes are destroyed after the great tribulation. Alot of people will make fun of me for saying that, but here's a thought, I do not see anyone in the Christian faith strapping on a bomb and going in to a crowded mall, restaurant or bus yelling God is great while blowing the bomb up and murdering innocent men, women and children. Now, for all of you who say Christianity brought us the inquisition. That was hundreds of years ago and I don't think you can use that one anymore. There were bad people in Christianity during the dark ages who wanted to kill or convert, but not anymore.

Yes, there will be peace. When the Prince of Peace comes back and sets up His kingdom. The lion will lay down with the lamb, and there will be no more sorrow or pain. The instigator of all earth's woes will be bound and cast into the pit, and he will not be able to torment the people anymore. Lift up your head, it's just arond the corner.

If you go back to Caine and Abel, there has been conflict since then and there will always be so long as there are two human beings on Earth. Not the answer you would like but it is the history of mankind. Just do the best that you can.

If you take the world *as a whole*:
NO, there will never be peace, not for any considerable length of time anyway, not amongst such a large and diverse group.

If you take *your* world -- your family, friends, loved ones:
YES, there can be lasting peace amongst a small and caring group.

I know it's cliché, but:
"To the world, you are one person. But to a few, you may be the world."

No amount of tree hugging hippy peace propaganda is going to reduce a very real threat of future attacks internationally. Holding their hands and singing kumbyah doesn't work. We once lived in a very xenophobic United States, thinking no one would dare touch us. We can no longer ever be oblivious to the outside world again.

In one word, NO.

It is not the nature of humans to use good judgment and restraint.

Also, sadly, if you read these questions and answers, an inordinate number of people would rather be wise acres rather than intelligent.

maybe somewhere else. I hope it to be here at some point in our life. Your poem you wrote last night is really sad...but true. All we can do is hope and pray. I'm not sure if that can ever be answered. That is sad too.

Unfortunately, peace on earth is equal to a lifeless cinder that was once a planet.

Peace is equal to no life, nothing.

Nice poem

Certainly, there shall be peace on earth provided all people in the world live in abundance.
