firstly electronic tagging is used when there is a ban (by courts) on an individual from going to certain areas normally where they have committed an offence , usually town centres, but can also be used to track you where you are at certain times, a bit like sat nav as it uses satellite technology to trace your movements.
the home detention curfew is just an order saying you have to be at home at certain hours of the day usually 8pm to 8am, and the home curfew gives the police the powers to call at your home to make sure you are there, and are allowed to call at any time between the times stated on your curfew order as many times as they want
