They are probably dirty minded towards women in general not just waitresses. Embarrass them in front of everyone that might stop them.

I watched a movie where the chef said "nobody ever took note of the person making the dish". Maybe its about the waitresses being the ones in contact with the person enjoying the meal and not the person who made it. I think they feel left out in the appreciation of the meal. I haven't heard of a chef who got tips but waitresses do always.

Not all chefs are dirty minded towards waitresses.
You should put all chefs in one box. The term "Chef" is no longer just for men. There are a lot more women in the industry nowadays.

ALL chefs aren't. Some may be, but it is not good to try to put all of any class in the same box. Do you think Rachel Ray is dirty minded towards waitresses? She is a chef and a fine one, too.

Not all chefs are. I do know as having been a chef myself that when things are pressured in the kitchen and waitresses constantly asking stupid questions, things slip out of your mouth that probably aren't right. And on one of my first interviews I got asked to try on a blouse *in front of the head chef*. It's a man's world out there, and I appreciate the women like us who make it. A sharp tongue is your best bet. Or walk. Life is too short to be harrassed.

I think its due to lack of getting out much. Its the only female contact they get in the day. It doesnt bother me anyway, my husband is a chef and I'm a waitress!!

Gee, I think that's a little unfair. Without going into details, I know a few chefs who are more that way inclined towards the waiters!
But, hey if you don't like it just tell them to shove off (or whatever words you prefer). You've got rights, Tony -- be assertive and use them!
And if all else fails you can always sue...
Good luck and don't let them get you down! You're better than that, okay?

chefs are cheeky but nice when i was 16/17 i did waitressing and cus they thought i was young they would say rude things 2me but were shocked when they found out i have a even dirtier mind then most men! half the time its just friendly banter.but i do think they love the uniform,i had 2wear a short black skirt, white blouse which they can see your bra through and a cute dickie bow sometimes with a apron so i think that turns them on! x

Because they consider themselves the artists, the creators and the stars of the show thats why they graduated from Culinary arts school and think that waitresses are only servers and nothing important.
