Here's what I think. First of all, we live more than once. We can't remember our last lives because it would interfere whith this one. We learn in each life time. When we die we go to the place we started in, analyze our lessons learned and decide on what life we need to do to learn something else. The place we go is like going home after a long business trip. We like being there.
In order for us to not want to go home before we're done is why we have the fear of "death.' If we remebered how good it was to be home, we'd want to be there, especially if we choose a hard life, or lesson to learn. I believe that if you commit suicide, you leave before you're supposed to, and only have to come back and do it again. So it's best to stick around and do the best you can.

I'm not afraid of death, nor do I love life overly. Its a case of when I die, I die. I can't change it, if its tomorrow or next month, next year. Its part of the cycle of life. Especially now, when looking back, humans were lucky to live past 30.
Death is just another stage. So why waste time pondering over what comes after, and try to make something of your lives in the now.

I am not scared of death but would welcome it as that is the end of my suffering and the next thing I will see is Jesus face. Life if fine but eternal life with Jesus is much better than anything this world offers. If you are so scared of death, maybe it is because you know nothing about it or what happens. If you want to find out, check the site below and do the studies that are offered there.

most people are afraid of death because they know that in the back of their head they have NO IDEA what's waiting for them on the other side. Humans are naturally afraid of the unknown. I am not afraid of death at all. I am Christian. I go to a Pentacostal church that believes an Apostolic doctrine which states that if you believe on Jesus, are baptized in His name, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in Tongues, you are saved and will go to heaven to be with Jesus when you die. Read Acts 2, focus on verse 38.

We are afraid of death when we have something to lose, a good life, dream, achievement. Growing old slowly brings resolution and comfort. To be afraid is to be alive, and normal.

I am scared of death coz I know that if I die my partner will be sad until he died too... the thought of him crying on my funeral brings tears in my eyes and I just can't allow myself to die... Also, I don't like to die if there is no eternity... I guess I am just so inlove with my guy that I just can't imagine eternity without him... we have to always be together forever and death scares me coz it doesn't give me the assurance that I need... Will we still be together after death? Why does the marriage vow say "'til death do us part?"... it shouldn't :(

Your question is the answer. We love life and don't want to lose it. And most of us are afraid of the unknown.
"Its not death I fear, but the dying"

I don't fear death what so ever. In fact, I do not need to sell my soul for the claim of life everlasting. When you have no fear, you have no need for false hope and insanity. I have been at death's door several times, felt overwhelming peace, not fear. Good luck

Our fear is based on the belief in separation. We think we are separate from God and think that all that we see is God, so we fear separation from this. The physical world is not God's creation, it is the ego mind that creates the world you see. Life, death, Love, hate, it is all an illusion. God is the only constant and it is not found here. Jesus found it, Jesus is it. And so are you if you would only wake up.
