all natural-fill a disposable pie plate with water and a few teaspoons of dish washing liquid on the floor place a clip on lamp above it (about a foot and a half above)careful not to let each touch(obviously). The fleas will jump toward the heat of the light, fall in and become stuck in the soapy water.Change water daily.-This really works! I have done it
Also vacuum,vacuum,vacuum!

If you own a pet you will have fleas in the house from time to time. In some cases you may become infested with fleas. We have had as many as four cats at our house and we have been infested with fleas a few times. We only have two cats now so it is not as bad, but we still have to use the process I am about to tell you about.

You really don't have any control if your pet goes out of your yard, but you will need to spray your own yard about two times during the summer months with a good flea insecticide. If you kill all the fleas in your house with out killing the little pest in the yard you will continue to have a problem inside.

One of the main reasons a house will become infested with fleas is, after you vaccum your house and put the vaccum away, every flea that was in the vaccum bag will crawl right back out of the vaccum cleaner and into the house and start multiplying.

The way to stop this is to take the bag out, spray some flea insecticide in the bag and tape the hole of the bag up. Then spray the insecticide around the house. If you will repeat this process every two or three days for two weeks you will not be infested with fleas any more.

You can resume your normal schedule of vaccuming after you clear up the infestation, but you will still need to tape the vaccum bag up just in case your pet brings a couple of fleas in from outside.

If there are fleas throughout the house, you can try a "fogger"- type bug killer. Remove any clothing and loose items (pictures, etc.) from the room to be treated. You can kill fleas on clothing simply by laundering and drying; the heat of the dryer will kill the little monsters. It is the ones in the carpet and furniture that you must fog.

After fogging the room, check inside the sofas and chairs as best as you can. They can hide inside the backs....ugh. If there is a heavily infested piece of furniture, have it destroyed.

Don't forget to clean out any air-vents.

If your place is heavily infested, check with your landlord and call a professional exterminator. Check your lease also. If the fleas were there before you moved in, your landlord may be responsible for removing them.

Best of luck.

Since no pets.. easy.. DO NOT GET those aerosol bombs, etc etc.. Go to HOme Depot, get a hand sprayer and get a GOOD flea spray that you mix with water.. follow the directions and spray the house..... THEN.. unfortunately.. go back a week later and spray again because fleas leave eggs, larvae, etc and if you spray today... it will kill the fleas but the eggs, etc will hatch within a week and you will have fleas again so that is why you have to spray a second time.

If it is not too costly where you live, have a professional come in to spray

thats the bad thing about fleas, they lay eggs in the carpet or other dry area and something as simple as running the vaccuum can make them hatch.Get a flea bomb and set that off.Alot of them actually work for 3 months after the initial use to kill fleas that may hatch after you set off the flea bomb. Also if you are renting and dont have pets might i suggest some mouse traps because the fleas had to come from somewhere.Either that or someone ou had over that has pets brought them in on their clothes.

Get a Raid fogger. I had got lice from a house at the age of 21 when we moved into a rented house. And guess where I was when I found out? Yup, you guessed it, at the salon. She was very discreet in letting me know and gave me very good tips on how to get rid of them. Just a little tip. If you have stuffed animals, blankets that are folded in closets that you do not use or other furry things in your house put them in trashbags, cheap ones will do and let them sit for at least 14 days (I let mine sit for 3) and that way the fleas, lice, larvae have nothing to live off of and all die away. Anything else, even if it says not to, needs to be washed in the hottest water possible.

There is stuff called Ecto Kill.... it works the best for all types of floors, apolstry, cracks in floors.... Although you may not be able to find it....

So go to PetCo or PetSmart and ask which one of their foggers works the best! You should be able to find like three in a box for 15-20 dollars. Each "fogger" should do up to like 2000sq ft.
I think you have to leave for 2 hrs... but always read the box to make sure!! You dont have pets so thats all you should need!!

Being you don't have pets, I'd just flea-bomb the apartment/house. Follow the directions to a tee.

There are home remedies too:
Salt and/or Brewer's Yeast applied to carpeting before vacuuming.

Frontline offers a spray that you can use to kill fleas. I believe you just spray on your carpet and furniture. You can purchase it at a vet's office.

Also, buy a flea collar, cut it up and place it inside the vacuum bag. When you vacuum and suck up the fleas and stuff, it will kill them so they cannot escape and continue to propagate in your household.

I used to work at a vet's office and these two suggestions were often given to inquiring customers.

Good Luck!
