There are apparently at least two of you mothers who understand what I am talking about.
I went to bed this morning at 3 am, and got up at 7:20 so that I could make sure 3 of my 4 children were showered, dressed and ready for school and GOT ON THE BUS. My day begins every morning at bewteen 7 am and 7:20am, it ends every morning at 3 am. I am a stay at home mom, and I also take care of my mom. I balance two check books, clean two homes, cook double, wash clothes double, get groceries double. My husband works full time and he thinks the way all men think. That because I stay home, I must eat cookies, cry about the soaps, and generally be lazy all day. Yes I shower and wash my hair, and shave anything that needs it, before I go to bed every mornin at 3 am. When I go out I usually have on th easiest, most comfortable thing I OWN, and I dont own many clothes, however my kids and my husband do. Its clean , but comfortable.

Theres dirty diapers, spit up, washing clothes, drying clothes, feeding the kids, homework, house work, bills, credit cards, checkbooks, car batteries, oil changes, brake pads, spraying for insects, sweeping, mopping, carpet cleaning (believe me spilled milk or spit up smells nasty), bathing the kids, making sure everything that got cook that wasnt eaten gets put up. Food doesnt get throwed in the trash for flys to blow. Grease doesnt get poured down the kitchen sink. Cleaning toilets, taking out the trash, holding whoever happens to bne sick today. Cleaning up puke Dirty clothes to be picked up. Clothes are to be washed my MOM and only MOM, we have enough PINK, FADED BLEACHED OUT CLOTHES. So tell me what part of clean and keep it all clean, dont you people understand.
We dont have time to primp or get all dolled up. Who do you think makes sure that you eat, have clean clothes, has water to wash your stinky butt in, and soap to make it smell better??

Humm having a college education has nothing to do with being a stay at home mother. I do it because I choose to, because it eases the life of my family if I am a stay at home mom.
Furthermore, you grammer is awful, maybe that college education isnt doing you a damn bit of good.

I'm sorry, but that question is just beyond idiotic. Is the person talking about physicaly or what? I mean, if so, what in the hell do you think having your skin stretched out for 9 months is going to do? Are we supposed to have some kind of control over just how our bodies heal??
Or is it the simple fact that a womans' body changes so much because of having a child, the shape of your boobs, your hips, your butt, your stomach? Some women are very lucky and can go back to how they looked before, I don't know how in the hell they do it, but lucky them. For those of us who have to make some effort, oh well, thats what we have to do. I haven't seen any woman just totally let herself go however.
Could be that you will not see a new mother take an hour or more to fluff herself up, because she is a tad occupied taking care of a child that is 100% dependent on HER CARE.
Before we have kids, we have time to do these little things, thats time we spent on ourselves, trying to impress jerk men, so that they can sit there and complain after you have the child they kind of participated in conceiveing, about how you just don't look as pretty. Personaly, I think the men that actually get it - who sit there, look at the woman that just gave birth to this miracle, who watch the 10 billion things she is suddenly occupied with- and say 'wow! You are beautiful', are the men that don't have their head shoved up their ***. They get it. Women can be miracle workers.
Our priorities change when we have kids - or at least they should. We are more occupied with raising this child, than we are worried about how we look.
It took some time before I was able to concentrate on myself enough to not look like I just got out of bed all day long. You get yourself back into a routine, albeit a shortened version of one lol.
Disgusting - good lord.
You know whats disgusting - scrubbing puke off your clothes, neck after that adorable innocent threw it up all over you, and having to clean them off too. Or the poopy diapers, the ones that get really full in one shot and come right up out the back of the diaper. If you think it ends there...wait until Jr. figures out how to take off the diaper, and pees on your carpet, or poops on your carpet. $180 roughly for a halfway decent carpet cleaner. Don't rent - buy. They come in much handier. Now just how pretty do you think someone who is scrubbing that up, trying NOT to throw up is going to look???
Give it a rest, get real. Its called real life. Mothers aren't runway models. They are real women who raise generation after generation, and its a truly thankless job, especially when you see some idiot who posts a question like that.

For one thing I take offense at being lumped into the group that ALL men think that way. I for one, don't.
It sounds to me that it is about time you got that lazy husband of yours up off his *** to help you.
I cook, clean, do laundry, help with homework and all those other things that you mentioned. I realize that being an at home mom is an 8 hour a day job as well as another 8 hour a day job to do the rest of the work around the house.
I come home, cut the grass, take care of the house exterior, do repairs, fix the plumbing, wash the cars, as well as help my wife with the housecleaning. I run the vacuum so she doesn't have to push that heavy thing all around the house, I make the beds in the morning so she doesn't have to while she gets the kids ready.
So please, not all of us are like that or think like that. I'm sorry that you made such a bad choice in men. Next time ask questions before you marry him, and get honest answers.

Being a mother can be a dirty job, but somebody has to do it. Sorry if we don't have the time to get all dolled up any more, that might have someting to do with a 24/7 job.

well i think often a women will let herself go after being preg. And some will get preg. soon after they just had one and furthermore letting themselves go. Some do not. Why do they get discusting?
Well here is your reasons and remember not all are like this but im answering your question based on the ones that do get discusting
1) yells at there partner all the time makes demands has no manners to there partner for a good amount of time
2) just got home from work and you want us to bathe the child can i at least get my feet in the door
3) looks they let it go way to far no longer attractive
4) When an even takes place they expect the man to do everything that way they can gossip all day
5) They let themselves go because they know that if you leave that your screwed in child support hence we feel (enslaved)
6) You often smell dont take pride in ones self specially if your a stay at home mom dont even take a shower your hair is a disaster and often you think youve had it bad when we came home from laboring ourselves all day
7) we want to watch football at least give us a break sunday
8) please dont tell me that its a job taking care of a child its only a job if you have 2 or above but 1 thats a joke come on we dont want to sit here and see you eat bom boms all day watching montel and crying to some soap

What's disgusting about motherhood? I love being a wife and mother, and I also love being the woman and wife I was before having babies.
Whoever posted that must have a skewed view of what life is supposed to be about.

I remember this question, and I think they were refering to women that gain a lot of weight and then have a hard time losing it. He doesn't understand how difficult it is. Of course he was probably sitting in front of the computer at the time scratching his huge beer gut and guzzling a 24 oz beer and has 5 day growth of facial hair!

I think there are no disgusting mother's , I think it is on US as mothers and on how we want to feel... I have a loving husband that help me around the house & so as my kids they are 10 , 6 ,2 they have shores to do at home, my hubby and I work full time & it is both of our responsabilities to have a clean and nice home & so to have well educated kids.. I think what mother's need to do is to get help from kids & hubby that way ou job at home will be less stressed it is our obligation in a way but so is your hubby's obligations ... that way we can have a ittle time for us to to feel better once in while ....I get up at 6:00 a.m get a shower get dressed & start getting mi kids ready for school ,I take them to school & day care then go to work, I pick them up after work and go home do homewok, dinner, shower & spend time with them ... then at nigth I have time for me & my hubby I ussually go to sleep at 11:30 or 12 the latest & on weekends I try to sleep until 8 wake up and get dressed at least I try to comed my hair, get on short & shirt & try not to look discusting for my own good I don;t like for my hubby to come home I look at me with out combing my have or not clean .... For all mothers out there with busy life it is always good to have at lest 10 min for us at day if there is more time go ahead & spend time on YOU!!!! :)

I don't see why there is ever a good reason to be disgusting once women have children. Then again, I don't know what you mean by disgusting.
You have the power to change things. Have your kids shower at night and if any of them are over the age of 6, there are lots of things they can do to help around the house. I dont see how you can be disgusting if you shower.
