This is perfectly natural.
When taking these classes and learning about things that you have never been taught about before.
A couple of things to keep in mind. You probably do not have much knowledge of what the bible actually says. Most Catholics are not taught to read their own bibles.
Please add the bible to your reading material. Whenever you are taught something that has you questioning your faith, get out your bible and read directly from the scriptures themselves.
If what man is teaching you goes directly against the bible, stick with the bible, this is true in school and inside church.
Knowledge is power, once known it cannot be taken from you.

I grew up and went to Catholic school and can honestly say I went through a questioning phase in my life. College is really an indoctrination into secular or non-religious life. The bible may or may not be a fairy tale but what the bible teaches has immense value and is the foundation of the country you now live in. Morality or right and wrong in this country were distilled from the bible, presently though the lines of morality have been blurred and even believing in christianity is looked at a being weak or that you are a automoton. I can exist as a Moderate Christian and be educated in this world we live in. I don't believe all that the church teaches nowadays but I also don't blindly believe the perception of the US or christianity by the worl or mainstream media. I am a good moral person because religion and my parents taught me what is fundmnetally right and what is wrong. You have to have the strength to make your own decisions based on what YOU believe and not what others tell you to. That is what I believe and that is why I believe

I suggest that you read up on Gnosticism... It's christianity minus all the stuff that doesn't make sense in the old testament... not really minus, but it offers an explanation as to why none of it makes any sense... It explains why the God in the old testament was a vengeful, angry, jealous, and frankly mean God and the God in the new testament is a manifestation of Love...
Question Catholocism... show me where in the Bible it says you should give 10% of your income so that the Pope can have a $250,000 solid gold cross and that people should worship Mary over Jesus. I'm not refuting donating money to do God's work, just giving it to the richest organization to EVER exist... Vatican City is both the smallest and the richest country on the planet. How is that the meek inheriting the earth? Doesn't Jesus preach the rich will have much difficulty making it into heaven also? Didn't Jesus tell his disciples and preachers to leave all of their posessions and riches behind? Isn't it strange that so many catholic priests molest young boys? Something is direly wrong with the catholic church...
Jesus is true, the love of God is true, the Catholic church is false.

You are questioning your faith because you've been duped into thinking science trumps the Bible.
Science is the search for "facts". Faith is the search for "Truth".
Using science to define Truth and/or using Faith to guage science, is tantamount to mixing apples with oranges.
Science is a good thing. But it can be misused and abused. The same goes with theology. It too can be abused if used to debunk science.
Science should be used to determine what happened.
Theology should be used to determine 'why' something happened.
For example: We know God created man. But, somehow, most people don't want to consider the possibility that evolution is how God did it....
Pro-evolutionists will tell you evolution is an act of nature. Nature is indeed a higher power than mankind. But even nature has a higher power. Nature functions, not on it's own accord, but in accordance with the way it was designed by it's Higher Power = God.
I hope this helps.

You need to learn more about your Catholic faith.
The Catholic Church does not take the story of creation in the Bible literally. Catholics believe it tells religious truth not historical fact.
The religious truth is that God created everything and declared all was good.
The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.
As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.
With love in Christ.

It is natural to question beliefs, especially in some of the liberal institutions we have.
You will be fine if you study your faith half as much as all of the things pulling at you. If you walk away from your faith and ONLY listen to the others you will start to waver. Just give God a small part of your time.
Do you attend Mass?
Are there groups of other Catholics on Campus you could join?
Being Catholic and following Jesus is not easy, but you will find that it is always worth the effort.
Joining a cult is NOT the answer!
As a Catholic, you might try spending some time here as well:

www.Catholic.org.
Peace!
May God Bless you and your Family.
I will Pray with you.

The Church supports both evolution and astronomy. In fact, it funds scientific research projects. You need to understand your faith better. It sounds as if you have only a surface understanding of Catholicism.
Now, there are reasons within science, particularly particle physics to question any faith, but neither evolution nor astronomy should do that.

It is always good to question your faith. That is how you grow stronger in your faith.
Go talk to your priest about your questions. Keep your mind and heart open to God.
Go on retreats, do research from reliable Catholic sources, go to adult faith formation classes. Your faith formation should not have stopped when you got Confirmed.
Contact me if you have further questions.

That explains why "knowledge" was the "forbidden fruit." Knowledge refutes fairy tales, which, in turn, takes the money sources away from The Church.
