Put another way, the aim is total control of the structure of matter, rearranging it at will via molecule-sized machines to suit human purposes.

Reverse the aging process and patent the procedure. I'd be the richest person in the world, and would never die or suffer from old age. I might also consider upgrading my brain to super-genius levels.
