I was like: "no way"! and they were all: "yeah, dude I'm not kidding, they really believe that"

So, I want to know, Is this really true? Could you guys possibly believe that? NO, I'm serious, How could that be even, like, possible?

What about the dinosaurs? Do you guys really think we coexisted with them? You can't possibly believe that, could you?

How could like, swimming and flying dinosaurs also die in a flood?

If there is nothing prehistoric, then, like , how do you guys explain vast rock formations, plate tectonics and sediment layers with fossils? Does this mean you throw out all geology and astronomy (since there is mathmatical proof how fast light travels from other stars, concluding that when we look into the night sky we are looking millions of years into the past?)

Yeah.. well you need to be delusional to completely understand this concept. Try taking a lot of LSD and think it over. Eventually you will know the meaning of life.

Here, this should explain a lot, I copied my answer from another question:
Some people believe in something called the Gap theory, this states that the first verse of the bible (Genesis 1:1) in the original greek text says "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth," after that statement, there was a line that looked like this ______, some theologians believe that this line represents a period of time in which dinosaurs could have roamed the earth, and as the previous answer states, this also could have been a time where another form of man had been created because God did say to Adam "go and REplenish the earth. They also believe that this was when Satan was thrown on to the earth (Satan used to be an Arch angel in heaven named Lucifer, which means "angel of light", he betrayed God and God threw him down to earth along with 1/3 of the angels, that is a whole other story though) and there is a possibility that God had created this race of man, and when Satan came on the earth he decieved every last one of them, so God wiped everything out and then decided that He would create us, but this time in His image, which is amazing all in itself... So that is one belief. Others believe that when God created Adam, Adam was created as a man, he wasn't created as a baby, therefore this says that God could have created the earth as old as He wanted it to be, this is probably why people are saying the earth is billions of years old...

There's many different stories..

Christians believe the earth is around 6000 years old.

Dinosaurs, well they can't agree about dinosaurs. Some say they coexisted with man, and were drowned in the Great Flood. Others say they never existed, and are made up, and there are other Christians that believe dinosaurs did exist, and that evolution is possible, but that God did it all.

It's very confusing.

Some people really do believe it. The theory is called the "Young Earth Theory". There are other theories that allow for the Bible to be a literal counting of days and time since the creation of Adam. Before the creation of Adam, the days are allegories.

I have included a link to a good read that explains the position quite well.

A lot of the denial is religion related.

In the case of swimming/flying prehistoric...
floodding isnt considered the primary method used to kill them off.

Prevailing view is that it was an asteroid.

Despite views to the contrary, we actually have a handful of full sets of skeleton/bones of dinosours.

And sufficent pieces of others to surmise/estimate their structure.

Yes it's true. Christians are brought up to believe that the world is only 6,000 years old and that all the fossil records were placed there when the earth was made by God. I guess to give us something to explore....

Gotta admit, if I were creating a world I doubt that I could resist adding stuff to it to prove I couldn't have built it....

The planet is older than 10,000 years for sure. Man did not coexist with dinosaurs. There are many different ways to look at it. I like take the creation story and look at how the "days" could have been longer in the beginning...maybe a few million years for instance. We have been counting existence for less than 10,000 years, though.

Yup, 4004 BC I think from the christian theologians.

Dinosaurs weren't real, they're just a joke we haven't worked out yet. Personally, I prefer to live in the present looking to the future than living in the past.

Yes, some people truly do believe it, despite overwhelming provable, tangible evidence to the contrary. Why do they believe it? Because they have 'faith', the definition of which is believing without evidence, which is simply intellectual suicide. They will bend and twist the scientific and historical data to fit their frankly ridicules theories, which is a great shame. If God exists he gave us minds to think and reason with, to discover the wonders of the world and beyond, not to reject intellect in place of blind unquestioning 'faith'.

Swedenborg said that the first literal person in the Bible is Abraham. The story of Adam and Eve is a story about the Most Ancient Church and the story of Noah is the Ancient Church story. The stories are true in the sense of the Lord dealing with man and trying to reform and regenerate man. The stories are heavily coded in parable and were not even written by Moses. They were existing scripture that Moses had.
