Shouldn't it prevention be aimed more towards people who know thier pregnancy will be unwanted, knowing they would abort or give out to adopt?
Are babies who are "unplanned" less worthy than those who are? I woud venture that over half of the population were unplanned. So what?

Yes... prevention should be a big focus for those who know they do not want a child. I personally believe that a focus of abstinence in this day in age is foolhardy.

As to your question about children who are "unplanned" being less worthy then those who are planned....
No human being is less worthy then another...
However, just because a human being is worthy of basic needs doesn’t always mean they get them.

A pregnancy is a pregnancy whether planned or unplanned. You can't prevent ALL unplanned pregnancy. It is a personal choice whether a couple decides if they are going to take the proper action to prevent a pregnancy and even then life happens even with precaution.

At age 22 I was engaged to my now husband. I found out 4 months into the planning of my wedding that I was pregnant. We embraced the the unplanned pregnancy and we were blessed with a beautiful little boy. He is now 12 and continues to bless our life every second of every minute. He was just meant to be here!

Life happens when you are planning life. Not every parent has the joyous life of a child mapped and planned out when they want it to happen. None the less we still love our children even if they were thought about as an idea and then planned.

It's impossible to prevent all unplanned pregnancies. There are a lot of instances where women who are on the pill have gotten pregnant. Married or otherwise. I guess if you think having a baby is the worst thing in the world, then you shouldn't take your pants off.

Aside from rape, I think it's possible to expect people to prevent unplanned pregnancies. If you're that terrified of becoming pregnant, and abstinence isn't an option for you, use TWO forms of birth control (e.g. a condom for the man and the pill for the woman). I don't think this is unreasonable.

My first two were very much planned and wanted. I prefer to think of my third baby as a surprise baby. She is due in December and was totally unplanned, but we wouldn't trade having this baby for anything!

Just because something happens that wasn't in your "plans" doesn't mean it isn't something wonderful. That's what life is all about, isn't it?

There is no way to prevent all "unwanted" pregnancy, but it is reasonable to think today's youth can be more educated about prevention. It is a fact that the only sure thing is abstinence, but in today's society abstinence is rare. Also, to answer your final question, all children planned or otherwise are a gift from GOD and should be treated as such.

No, it's not unreasonable. It's a parents responsibility to teach their children about sex and how to avoid pregnancy, including practicing safer sex. After puberty, sex becomes a very real desire, and is part of us, very much the way the desire for food is very much a part of us.

Unplanned babies are not worth anything less, but the likelihood they'll be born into a stable family with both parents involved is very slim.

Gee...If that was the case...NONE of my children should be here!

Unplanned doesn't mean unWANTED!!

Stop causing issues that aren't necessary! If a person doesn't want to get pregnant...DON'T HAVE SEX!!! That's the ONLY SURE FIRE BIRTH CONTROL!!!
