Who thinks flowers for a first date are too tacky?

If not flowers.. maybe something she enjoys. Find out what her hobbies are. My first date with the man I married.. he knew I loved real estate and was looking for a new home.. thoughtful of him, I thought.. to bring me real estate magazines :) Im not a flower kinda girl :)

It is not tacky, it's a nice gesture on the part of the man but in modern times there is no time for chivalry. No more opening doors, paying for everything, flowers, presents. Men treat women now as their equals and it is the woman's fault. One thing is being treated equally in the work force because a career is a career. A woman doctor should get paid the same as a man doctor, after all they studied the same thing, but unfortunaly it is not so. Women get by far, less salaries than men. This has nothing to do with relationships. There is nothing more beautiful than a man having nice gestures towards a young lady while he's courting, and during a relationship. Respect is what we are dealing with here. I love getting flowers and after 17 years of marriage my husband still brings me flowers. This sure beats the "I'm home, get me a beer, I'm tired because I worked too hard", ignoring you, probably not even kissing you hello, you don't exist attitudes 90% of the men have towards their mates nowadays. But if you enjoy this then you have lost the basics of courting, your femeninity and any notion of what love and romance is all about.

I think almost all girls like flowers! I think that carnations or something along those lines would be a better choice for a first date, rather than roses. Have a good time!

They are not at all...its very sweet and gentleman like and to tell you the truth every girl likes to be given flowers. It makes you feel special...keep up the good work your date will love ya'

Girls would like to get flowers everyday.
Some of us are unlucky and never get flowers.
Just get the flowers - make sure they're beautiful

They are great if a guy can pull it off and not look like a dork.
It can be very romantic but the guy must have a cavalier attitude and not a wimpy needy persona.

Not tacky at all, in fact you'll score big in the impression department. I'd reccomend getting a dozen roses if ya can!

I think it's sweet. It means you took the time to get her something nice. Nothing to serious like roses, but something like daisies, would be nice. Maybe find out what her favorite kind of flower is.

I think its sweet... there are not many guys who are willing to go to the expence of buying flowers and tell him not to stop there, getting flowers is always nice and it lets you know he still thinks you are special...
