This is a problem we all go through, but you just go through it a little slower than average. So you don't want to lose another year maybe more trying to adjust to entering the world after college, but this is the thing. That is the world after college, a long period of adjustments until everything pans out. I've been out 3+ years and I am still struggling to be financially stable, find a healthy relationship to be in, and just be consistent with my job. The key is to have faith that it will pan out and start making baby steps towards your goals... eventually you will be running and leaping, but don't rush it.

At my college graduation this Senator (whose name I have forgotten) spoke about his accomplishments which were great, and he made me really nervous because I didn't think I could do all that or even half of it. And then he said, "Sounds great, right? BUT, my first 15 years was spent between my parent's house and being an average joe soldier in the military because I was CLUELESS about what I was going to do with my life!" For 15 years he did this! And then went on to have a fantastic life and became a United States Senator...

Give yourself all the time you need, and do not feel bad about it. Go out meet people and enrich your life. Time is never wasted, it is spent doing exactly what you were supposed to be doing at that moment in your life.

Oh i know exactly what you mean!
I'm off work just now cos I'm going through this kinda thing. I got it just after I left school and again when I left college- my Mum reminds me I also refused to accept I had to leave nursery school when I was little!
I don't know why it happens but I do know it makes you feel so out of control and I get really emotional for no reason whatsoever. I am calming down a lot cos I have some time to sit and think things through being off work but it's still a weird experience as normally I'm so happy and bubbly. I still am happy and bubbly but inside I feel so messed up.
I guess you just need to focus on the good things and I find writing down a plan helps? I did this last time, wrote down what I wanted to achieve by the age of 25 and it worked. I have a flat, car, salary and fairly stable happy life. I'm all stressed due to other things beyond my control and lots of changes in my workplace.
I hope you are okay honey and you are not alone, loads of people feel this way but lots of people don't like to admit to it.

xxxxxxx

I know exactly what you are going through. I finished college a year ago, got a job and still don't feel comfortable. I wish I had some profound advice, but the only thing I think you can do is hang in there and focus on whatever it was that you studied to do, find a job that suits your interests, and go for it. You will waste time if you just ruminate on how crappy this transitional period is.

Change is inevitable and some deal with it better than others. Set out some goals and work towards them.

Visit you doctor and talk to him/her about your situation. The doctor may or may not feel you are suffering from depression.

Do not stay in your own mind wondering...it's like wandering around alone in Central Park at night..a dangerous place to be!

Well,

Trasistions are a part of life. You have to just basically roll with the punches. When we go through thegood or the bad we have to somply go through, Its not neccesarliy a bad thing. You have toi learn who you are and based on what you can live with make decisions. Congrats on finishing school. Hang in there you be fine.

Sound like you might be clinically depressed. I would suggest you go see a therapist and perhaps ask to be put on an anti-depressant. The medications can be very helpful and can allow for you to have the strength, motivation and desire to deal with your issues. Good luck!

the only thing I can suggest is find a job, even if you don't really like it, and immerse yourself in that job until you are ready to 'take on the world,' so to speak. That is what I did in that situation.
