It depends on your child. Everyone is different in how their body deals with changes. My daughter gets a high fever everytime she cuts a tooth and with my son we didnt even know he was cutting teeth until he bit me when I was feeding him. I would say that it may go away as soon as the other teeth break through but there is no way to know for sure how long it will effect his mood.

I dont know my son was a good teether, but all I can say is I used sore throat spray to spray his gums where his teeth were coming in. When ever he'd be crabby i'd do that and then he would stop. I bought the triaminic sore throat spray. it worked wonders. My son is 2 1/2 now.

For my son the total process only lasted three weeks or so but only affected his mood and woke him up at night for about a week.

toooo long my sons molars cut for 7 months 3 days give panadol at nite to help him sleep
